This memorial website was created to remember our dearest Stephen Michael Dorchincez who was born in Illinois on April 28, 1954 and passed away on August 16, 2015. Cherished father, papa, brother, friend, mentor and Santa to all who met him. You will live forever in our memories and hearts.

Hello, and thank you for visiting my dad's memorial web site. I just wanted to take a minute to talk about this last year with my dad. My dad was offically diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer early this year. At that time he explained to all of us that he wanted to "have quality of life, not quantity" and therefore would not try to prolong things with the recommended treatments that would only make him sick in his last days. So my dad bravely met his inevidable fate head on. One of the times my dad and I spoke he told me that he did not want anyone to mourn his death and preferred people to celebrate the life he lived. So I ask that you take a moment and recall a special time you may have spent with him and be grateful that my dad is with my mom, smiling down at us in a better place.

God Bless,
Stephanie

Stephanie Dorchincez-Smith Father daughter hop October 22, 2015

For years I was really into the girl scouts. Every year there was a father daughter event I would drag my dad to. One of them was a 50's theme Father Daughter hop. If you know my dad well you know he does not dance, but my dad believed in taking one for the team when it came to us kids. So he indulged me in participating in the hula hoop contest, the bubble gum contest and even the twist off. Poor man was stuck akwardly shaking his hips to 50s music until the judges tapped us out. It's the small things he did that prove what an amazing man he was and I wish I didn't take his presence for granted because I miss him so much.

Hendrick Polanco My deepest condolences August 22, 2015

My deepest condolences.  May these few words from the Holy Scriptures bring you comfort in your time of grief...

John 11:32-45

32 And so Mary, when she arrived where Jesus was and caught sight of him, fell at his feet, saying to him: “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” 33 Jesus, therefore, when he saw her weeping and the Jews that came with her weeping, groaned in the spirit and became troubled; 34 and he said: “Where have YOU laid him?” They said to him: “Lord, come and see.” 35 Jesus gave way to tears. 36 Therefore the Jews began to say: “See, what affection he used to have for him!” 37 But some of them said: “Was not this [man] that opened the eyes of the blind man able to prevent this one from dying?”

38 Hence Jesus, after groaning again within himself, came to the memorial tomb. It was, in fact, a cave, and a stone was lying against it.39 Jesus said: “TAKE the stone away.” Martha, the sister of the deceased, said to him: “Lord, by now he must smell, for it is four days.”40 Jesus said to her: “Did I not tell you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” 41 Therefore they took the stone away. Now Jesus raised his eyes heavenward and said: “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 True, I knew that you always hear me; but on account of the crowd standing around I spoke, in order that they might believe that you sent me forth.” 43 And when he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice: “Laz´a·rus, come on out!” 44The [man] that had been dead came out with his feet and hands bound with wrappings, and his countenance was bound about with a cloth. Jesus said to them: “Loose him and let him go.”

45 Therefore many of the Jews that had come to Mary and that beheld what he did put faith in him;
